The White Minaret of Damascus and the Descent of Isa (AS)
The eastern minaret of the Umayyad Mosque, descending upon the wings of two angels, and the decisive encounter at the Gate of Ludd.
The return of Prophet Isa (AS) is one of the ten decisive major signs. According to Sahih Muslim, he will descend at the white minaret in eastern Damascus supported by two angels at dawn, praying behind the righteous leader of the Muslims before pursuing Dajjal.
In a long narration from al-Nawwas ibn Sam'an (RA), the Prophet ﷺ said:
> 'Allah will send the Messiah, son of Mary, who will descend at the white minaret in the eastern side of Damascus, wearing two light-saffron garments, resting his hands on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, drops of perspiration will scatter from it like pearls, and when he raises it, beads like pearls will drop from it.' (Sahih Muslim 2937).
