ليملكن أهل المغرب حمص ستة عشر شهرا إذا كانت فتنة المغرب فشد قبال نعلك إلى اليمن، فإنه لا يحرزكم منها أرض غيرها
Let the people of the Maghreb rule Homs for sixteen months. If the Maghreb is tempted, then strap your sandals to Yemen, for no other land will protect you from it.

Abdul Quddus told us, on the authority of Safwan, he said: Some of our sheikhs told me, on the authority of someone who witnessed the conquest of Homs. He said: “The Romans who were in Homs feared the Berbers, and you say: ‘Waisa Laqayfis’ from Berbers.” Safwan said: They used to call Hummus Tamra. They said: Woe to you, Tamra, from the Berbers.
