حدثنا أبو يوسف المقدسي، عن عبد الملك بن أبي سليمان، عن عمرو بن شعيب، عن أبيه، عن جده، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " في ذي القعدة تحازب القبائل، وعامئذ ينتهب الحاج، فتكون ملحمة بمنى، فيكثر فيها القتلى، وتسفك فيها الدماء حتى تسيل دماؤهم على عقبة الجمرة، حتى يهرب صاحبهم، فيؤتى بين الركن والمقام فيبايع وهو كاره، ويقال له: إن أبيت ضربنا عنقك، فيبايعه مثل عدة أهل بدر، يرضى عنه ساكن السماء، وساكن الأرض "
