حدثنا ابن المبارك، عن سيف، سمع عدي بن عدي الكندي، حدثه مولى، لهم، سمع جدي، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: إن «الله تعالى لا يعذب العامة بعمل الخاصة حتى يروا المنكر بين ظهرانيهم وهم قادرون على أن ينكروه فلا ينكروه، فإذا فعلوا ذلك عذب الله العامة والخاصة»

আল্লাহ তা'আলা অভিজাতদের কাজের জন্য সাধারণ মানুষকে শাস্তি দেন না যতক্ষণ না তারা তাদের মধ্যে মন্দ দেখতে পায় এবং তারা এটিকে নিন্দা করতে সক্ষম হয়, তাই তারা এটি অস্বীকার করে না। যদি তারা তা করে তবে আল্লাহ সাধারণ মানুষ এবং অভিজাতদের শাস্তি দেবেন।

Allah Almighty does not punish the common people for the actions of the elite until they see the evil in their midst and they are able to denounce it, so they do not deny it. If they do that, Allah will punish the common people and the elite.
