Abundant Rain While the Earth Grows Nothing
In brief
A sign before the Hour in which the sky sends down abundant rain, yet the earth produces no crops or blessing (barakah) from it.
In Sahih Muslim 2904, the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Famine (al-sanah) is not that you receive no rain, but famine is that you receive rain and receive rain, yet the earth grows nothing.' In al-Mustadrak 8515, Anas narrated: 'The Hour will not come... until the sky rains and the earth grows nothing.'
Counted among the late minor signs preceding the severe three-year drought immediately before the emergence of the Dajjal.
Seek barakah through taqwa (God-consciousness), istighfar (seeking forgiveness), and gratitude for sustenance.

al-Nawawid. 676 AH
Explains that true drought (al-sanah) in the end times is not the absence of rainfall, but the removal of barakah (divine blessing) so that the sky rains repeatedly yet the earth yields no beneficial harvest.
