حدثنا نعيم قال: ثنا رشدين، عن ابن لهيعة، عن عبد العزيز بن صالح، عن علي بن رباح، عن ابن مسعود، قال
يخرج رجل من الموالي يمر ويدعو إلى بني هاشم، يدعى عبد الله، يلي أربع سنين، ثم يهلك
A man from al-Mawali passes by and calls for the Banu Hashim, called Abdullah. He stays for four years, then dies
حدثنا نعيم قال: ثنا يحيى بن سعيد، عن أبي معاوية شيبان النحوي وهو ابن عبد الرحمن، عن منصور بن المعتمر، عن ربعي بن حراش، عن البراء بن ناجية الكاهلي، عن ابن مسعود، رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
ستزول رحى الإسلام لخمس وثلاثين، أو ست وثلاثين، أو سبع وثلاثين سنة، فإن يهلكوا فكسبيل من هلك، فإن تم فسبعين عاما لا، بما بقي
Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The mill of Islam will go round till the year thirty-five, or thirty-six, or thirty-seven; then if they perish, they will have followed the path of those who perished before them, but if their religion is maintained, it will be maintained for seventy years. I asked: Does it mean seventy years which remain or seventy years which are gone by? He replied: It means (seventy years) that are gone by. Abu Dawud said: Those who recorded Khirash, the name of a narrator, are wrong. (The correct name is Hirash)
قال معمر: عن أبي إسحاق، عن رجل، عن ابن مسعود، قال
إذا كانت سنة خمس وثلاثين حدث أمر عظيم، فإن يهلكوا فبالحرا، وإن ينجوا فعسى، فإذا كانت سنة سبعين رأيتم ما تنكرون
If it is the year thirty-five, a great matter will happen, and if they perish, then by heat, and if they are saved, then perhaps. And if it is the year seventy, you will see what you deny.
