Abdul Quddus and Amr bin Al-Harith told us, they said: Abdullah bin Salem Al-Homsi told us, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talha, on the authority of Ka’b, who said: “Allah Almighty created the world in the position of a bird, so He made the two wings the east and the west, and He made the head the Levant, and He made the top of the head hummus, and in it is the beak, and if the beak decreases, the people disagree, and He made the neck Damascus, and in it is the heart, so if the heart moves, the body moves, and the head has two blows: a blow from the wing.” The eastern wing is on Damascus, and a blow is from the western wing and it is on Homs, and it is the heaviest of them. Then the head approaches the wings and plucks them out, feather by feather.”

Abdullah bin Marwan told us, on the authority of Artat bin Al-Mundhir, on the authority of Tabi’, on the authority of Ka’b, who said: “If the Berbers left and settled in Egypt, there would be two incidents between them: an encounter in Egypt, and an encounter in Palestine, and in between that until they descended on Homs, so woe to it from them. They would be struck by heavy snow for forty nights there, almost annihilating them, then they would open it and enter it, and they would exit from it between the west and the arch in the middle of the market, then they would travel from it and descend. By Lake Famiyeh or a farsang below it, then people go out against them and kill them. Their leader is a man from the descendants of Ismail. They are killed in a village called Umm al-Arab, then a rebel rises up and kills the freedom, takes captive the offspring, and rips open the stomachs of the women. He defeats the group twice, then he is destroyed. And you will slaughter a woman from the Quraysh, and in it the stomachs of any of the women of Bani Hashim will be ruptured.”
