Demolishing the popular myth of the giant colossus: Why the Prophet ﷺ stalked Ibn Sayyad in Madinah, authentic physical anatomy, and grading the narrations on his parents and birth.
Popular folktales depict Dajjal as a giant colossus spanning mountains and oceans. Authentic Sunni hadiths refute this entirely: Dajjal is a mortal human male from the progeny of Adam (رجل من بني آدم) who walks on two feet, eats ordinary food, drinks water, and will physically bleed when stabbed by Prophet Isa's spear.
In Sahih al-Bukhari 1354 and Sahih Muslim 2930, the Prophet ﷺ personally suspected the Jewish youth Saf ibn Sayyad of being Dajjal. The Prophet ﷺ crept behind palm tree trunks in the garden of Banu Maghala to observe him unawares. If the Prophet ﷺ believed Dajjal was a cosmic giant, he would never have investigated a local human teenager in Madinah.
The Prophet ﷺ left an exact physical anatomy: (1) Medium height with a robust, broad chest (جسيم أحمر); (2) Extremely curly, tangled hair (جعد قطط); (3) Bow-legged walk with toes pointed inward (أفحج); (4) Protruding, defective right eye like a floating grape (عنبة طافية); (5) The letters K-F-R inscribed on his forehead; (6) Barren/sterile (عقيم لا يولد له).
The narration in Jami' at-Tirmidhi 2248 asserting that Dajjal's parents remain childless for 30 years and describing his father as tall with a bird-beak nose is classified as Da'if (Weak) by major hadith critics, including al-Albani and al-Arna'ut, due to the severe defect in the memory of the transmitter Ali ibn Zayd ibn Jud'an. We affirm that Dajjal has human parents, but reject unauthenticated caricatures.
Modernist writers often reduce Dajjal to an abstract metaphor for 'Western materialism' or 'mass media'. While godless systems share his deceptive traits, denying the personal, physical human reality of Dajjal contradicts mutawatir hadiths. He is an actual mortal demagogue empowered with divine trials who will personally be slain by Prophet Isa (AS).

The Prophet ﷺ went with a group including Umar to the fort of Banu Maghala where Ibn Sayyad was playing with children... The Prophet ﷺ stalked stealthily behind date palm trunks hoping to overhear what he was saying before being spotted... Umar said: 'Let me strike his neck!' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'If he is indeed him, you will have no power over him; and if he is not him, there is no good in you killing him.'
Indeed Allah is not hidden from you; indeed Allah is not one-eyed—and he pointed with his hand to his eye—and indeed al-Masih ad-Dajjal is blind in the right eye, as if his eye were a floating grape.
The father and mother of Dajjal will stay thirty years without a child, then a one-eyed boy will be born to them who will be most harmful and least beneficial. (Graded Da'if by muhaddithin due to weakness of Ali ibn Zayd ibn Jud'an).
