Synthesized commentary, isnad grading & cross-references

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #3688 in Sunan Abi Dawud.

[Isnad Grading & Assessment]: Scholar verdicts — Al-Albani: Sahih | Muhammad Muhyi Al-Din Abdul Hamid: Sahih | Shuaib Al Arnaut: Sahih Lighairihi | Zubair Ali Zai: Hasan.

[Core Subject]: The widespread consumption of riba (usury/interest), indifference to whether income is lawful or unlawful, and the normalization of intoxicants by calling them by other names.

[Described Characteristics]: The Prophet ﷺ foretold: 'A time will come upon people when a man will not care from where he acquires wealth, whether from halal or haram' (Bukhari 2083), and 'People from my Ummah will surely drink wine, calling it by other than its name' (Abu Dawud 3688, Ibn Majah 4020).

[Timeline & Context]: Among the minor signs that spread across society and intensify alongside open sin and commercial materialism.

[Prophetic Practice]: Guard the purity of your provision (rizq) and shun both riba and intoxicants regardless of how society renames them.
