Al-Hakam bin Nafi’ told us, on the authority of Jarrah, on the authority of Artat, who said: “If the Turks and the Romans meet, and a village in Damascus is eclipsed, and a group to the west of its mosque falls, three flags will be raised in the Levant: Al-Aqba’, Al-Ashab, and Al-Sufyani. A man will be besieged in Damascus and he will be killed and those with him, and two men from Banu Abi Sufyan will come out, and the victory will be for the second. If Al-Aqba’s army arrives from Egypt, Al-Sufyani will appear on them with his army, and the Turks will be killed. And the Romans in Qarqisia until the lions of the earth are satisfied with their meat.”

Then Al-Sufyani appears against the Marwanites and kills them, then he follows the Banu Marwan and kills them, then he approaches the people of the East and the Banu Abbas until he enters Kufa. The darkness of the people of that time gathers for the murderer, until when they look at their enemy and think that they have defeated their country, the head of their tyrant approaches, who was not known before. He is a tall man, with curly hair, sunken eyes, and prominent eyebrows with yellow hair, until when he looks at Al-Mansur at the end of that year in which the darkness of the people of that time gathers for the murderer, Al-Mansur dies while they are separated in more than one town, and when the news reaches them, they are struck where they were, and they pledge allegiance to Abdullah, and he returns. Al-Sufyani, so he calls a group of the people of the Maghreb to himself, and they gather together as they had never gathered for anyone else, as previously mentioned in the knowledge of Allah Almighty. Then he sets off a delegation from Kufa, and if the delegation is from Basra, then the majority of them will perish from burning and drowning, and then there will be an eclipse in Kufa. If the delegation is from the Maghreb, then it will be a minor attack, then woe to Abdullah from Abdullah. Then he will revolt in Homs and be kindled in Damascus, and a man will emerge in Palestine who appears on the He mourned him, at his hands the destruction of the people of the East, he possessed the burden of a woman, and three armies went out for him to Kufan, with which they attacked verses of the Quraysh, saving them from their day.

The Abbasid official at Tiberias was informed of his exit, and he sent to him a large crowd. If they confronted him, they all turned to him, except for their friend who led them. Then he fights him at the Lake of Tiberias, until the calves of the lake are red with their blood, then he defeats them, then they gather for him in Al-Jabiya a great crowd, so woe to him whose family is from Al-Jabiya five miles away, and blessed is he whose family is behind that, so he defeats them.

By the One in whose hand is my soul, it will expand upon whoever of the Muslims comes to it just as the womb expands upon a child. A mountain in the land of the Levant, from Homs, on a river called Al-Arunt, so the descendants of the Muslims will be at the top of the neck, and the Muslims are on the Arunat River, and the polytheists behind the Arunat River will fight them morning and evening. When the owner of Constantinople sees this, he directs six hundred thousand across the land to Qinnasrin until seventy thousand come to them in Yemen. May Allah unite their hearts with faith, with them forty thousand. From Himyar, until they come to Jerusalem, and they fight the Romans and defeat them, and drive them out from one army to another, until they come to Qinnisrin and the material of the loyalists comes to them.
