لا ترون سفيانيا حتى يأتيكم أهل المغرب، فإن رأيته خرج حتى يستوي على منبر دمشق فليس بشيء حتى ترى أهل المغرب

قال الوليد: فحدثني شيخ، عن جابر، عن أبي جعفر محمد بن علي، قال: " يقتل أربعة نفر بالشام، كلهم ولد خليفة: رجل من بني مروان، ورجل من آل أبي سفيان "، قال
فيظهر السفياني على المروانيين فيقتلهم، ثم يتبع بني مروان فيقتلهم، ثم يقبل على أهل المشرق وبني العباس حتى يدخل الكوفة ينازع السفياني بدمشق أحد بني مروان، فيظهر على المرواني فيقتله، ثم يقتل بني مروان ثلاثة أشهر، ثم يقبل على أهل المشرق حتى يدخل الكوفة

يجتمع للسفاح ظلمة أهل ذلك الزمان، حتى إذا كانوا حيث ينظرون إلى عدوهم وظنوا أنهم مواقعوا بلادهم، أقبل رأس طاغيتهم، لم يعرف قبل ذلك، وهو رجل ربعة، جعد الشعر، غائر العينين، مشرف الحاجبين، مصفار، حتى إذا نظر إلى المنصور في آخر تلك السنة التي يجتمع فيها ظلمة أهل ذلك الزمان للسفاح، يموت المنصور وهم مفترقون في غير بلدة واحدة، فإذا انتهى إليهم الخبر ضربوا حيث كانوا، فيبايعون لعبد الله، ويرجع السفياني، فيدعو إلى نفسه بجماعة أهل المغرب فيجتمعون ما لم يجتمعوا لأحد قط لما سبق في علم الله تعالى، ثم يقطع بعثا من الكوفة، فإن يكن البعث من البصرة فعند ذلك يهلك عامتهم من الحرق والغرق، ويكون حينئذ بالكوفة خسف، وإن يكن البعث من قبل المغرب كانت الوقعة الصغرى، فويل عند ذلك لعبد الله من عبد الله، ثم يثور بحمص ويوقد بدمشق، ويخرج بفلسطين رجل يظهر على من ناوأه، على يديه هلاك أهل المشرق، يملك حمل امرأة، تخرج له ثلاثة جيوش إلى كوفان، يصيبون بها أبيات من قريش، يستنقذون من يومهم

إذا رجع السفياني دعا إلى نفسه بجماعة أهل المغرب، فيجتمعون له ما لم يجتمعوا لأحد قط، لما سبق في علم الله تعالى، ثم يبعث بعثا من كوفة الأنبار، ثم يلتقي الجمعان بقرقيسيا، فيفرغ عليهما الصبر، ويرفع عنهما النصر، حتى يتفانوا، وإن كان بعثه من قبل المغرب كانت في الوقعة الصغرى، فويل عند ذلك لعبد الله من عبد الله، يثور بحمص، وهو أخبث البرية، ويوقد بدمشق، على يديه هلاك أهل المشرق

يهزم السفياني الجماعة مرتين، ويقبل الجزية، ويسبي الذرية، وليذبحن امرأة من قريش، بها يبقر بطون من يبقر من نساء بني هاشم، ثم يموت، ثم يثور من أهل بيت تلك المرأة ثائر بعد أعوام يدعى عبد الله، ما عبد الله تعالى قط، أخبث البرية، مشوه ملعون، من تبعه ودعا إليه يلعنه أهل السماء وأهل الأرض، وهو ابن آكلة الأكباد، يأتي دمشق، فيجلس على منبرها، فيشتعل أمره بحمص، ويوقد بدمشق، وذلك إذا خلع من بني العباس رجلان، وهما الفرعان، وعند اختلاف الثاني خروج السفياني، حديث السن، جعد الشعر، أبيض مديد الجسم، أصبعه الوسطى شلاء، يكون بينه وبينهم وقعات بالشام، ويسبي نساء بني العباس، حتى يوردهن دمشق

He commanded him to go to Homs, and to light a fire in Damascus, and that is when two men from the Abbasids are removed, and they are the two branches, and when the second one is different, Al-Sufyani emerges, young in age, curly-haired, white, with a long body, and his middle finger is shaved, and there will be clashes between him and them in the Levant, and he will take the women of the Abbasids captive until he brings them to Damascus.
قال الوليد: فأخبرني أبو عبيدة الأشجعي، عن أبي أمية الكلبي، قال
بينما أصحاب الرايات السود يقتتلون فيما بينهم إذ خرج سابع سبعة فيبعث إلى أهل القرى يسألهم نصرته، فيأبون عليه، ويبلغ عامل بني العباس على طبرية مخرجه، فيبعث إليه جمعا عظيما، فإذا واجهوه مالوا إليه بأجمعهم إلا صاحبهم الذي قادهم، ينصرف إلى صاحبه، فيخبره ويميل الخارجي ومن معه إلى السدرة التي إلى جانب التل، فينزل تحتها، ويأتيه أهل القرى فيبايعونه، ويسير بهم فيلقاه صاحب طبرية عند الأقحوانة فيقاتله عند بحيرة طبرية، حتى تحمار عجراء البحيرة من دمائهم، ثم يهزمهم، ثم يجمعون له بالجابية جمعا عظيما، فويل لمن كان أهله من الجابية على خمسة أميال، وطوبى لمن كان أهله خلف ذلك، فيهزمهم ثم يجمعون له بدمشق جمعا نحوا من جمعهم الذي دخلوا به دمشق، فيقتتلون هنالك حتى تركض الخيل في الدم إلى ثنتها، ثم يهزمهم

حدثنا أبو المغيرة، عن ابن عياش، عمن حدثه عن محمد بن جعفر، قال: قال علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه
يبعث السفياني على جيش العراق رجلا من بني حارثة له غديرتان، يقال له نمر أو قمر بن عباد، رجل جسيم على مقدمته رجل من قومه قصير أصلع، عريض المنكبين، فيقاتله من بالشام من أهل المشرق، وفي موضع يقال له الثنية، وأهل حمص في حرب المشرق وأنصارهم، وبها يومئذ منهم جند عظيم يقاتلهم فيما يلي دمشق، كل ذلك يهزمهم، ثم ينحاز من دمشق وحمص مع السفياني، ويلتقون وأهل المشرق في موضع يقال له ليدين مما يلي شرق حمص، فيقتل بها نيف وسبعون ألفا، ثلاثة أرباعهم من أهل المشرق، ثم تكون الدبرة عليهم، ويسير الجيش الذي بعث إلى المشرق حتى ينزلوا الكوفة، فكم من دم مهراق، وبطن مبقور، ووليد مقتول، ومال منهوب، ودم مستحل، ثم يكتب إليه السفياني أن يسير إلى الحجاز بعد أن يعركها عرك الأديم

حدثنا رشدين، عن ابن لهيعة، قال: حدثني أبو زرعة، عن ابن زرير، عن عمار بن ياسر، رضي الله عنه قال
علامة المهدي إذا انساب عليكم الترك، ومات خليفتكم الذي يجمع الأموال، ويستخلف بعده ضعيف فيخلع بعد سنتين من بيعته، ويخسف بغربي مسجد دمشق، وخروج ثلاثة نفر بالشام، وخروج أهل المغرب إلى مصر، وتلك أمارة السفياني

المهدي، والسفياني، وكلبا، يقتتلون في بيت المقدس حين يستقيله البيعة، فيؤتى بالسفياني أسيرا، فيأمر به فيذبح على باب الرحمة، ثم تباع نساؤهم وغنائمهم على درج دمشق

حدثنا ابن وهب، عن ابن لهيعة، عن خالد بن أبي عمران، عن حنش بن عبد الله، سمع ابن عباس رضي الله عنه يقول: " إذا خسف بجيش السفياني قال صاحب مكة: هذه العلامة التي كنتم تخبرون بها، فيسيرون إلى الشام، فيبلغ صاحب دمشق فيرسل إليه ببيعته ويبايعه، ثم تأتيه كلب بعد ذلك فيقولون: ما صنعت؟ انطلقت إلى بيعتنا فخلعتها وجعلتها له؟ فيقول: ما أصنع، أسلمني الناس، فيقولون: فإنا معك، فاستقل ببيعتك، فيرسل إلى الهاشمي فيستقيله البيعة، ثم يقاتلونه فيهزمهم الهاشمي، فيكون يومئذ من ركز رمحه على حي من كلب كانوا له، فالخائب من خاب يوم نهب كلب "
حدثنا ابن وهب، عن ابن لهيعة، عن خالد بن أبي عمران، عن حنش بن عبد الله، سمع ابن عباس رضي الله عنه يقول: " إذا خسف بجيش السفياني قال صاحب مكة: هذه العلامة التي كنتم تخبرون بها، فيسيرون إلى الشام، فيبلغ صاحب دمشق فيرسل إليه ببيعته ويبايعه، ثم تأتيه كلب بعد ذلك فيقولون: ما صنعت؟ انطلقت إلى بيعتنا فخلعتها وجعلتها له؟ فيقول: ما أصنع، أسلمني الناس، فيقولون: فإنا معك، فاستقل ببيعتك، فيرسل إلى الهاشمي فيستقيله البيعة، ثم يقاتلونه فيهزمهم الهاشمي، فيكون يومئذ من ركز رمحه على حي من كلب كانوا له، فالخائب من خاب يوم نهب كلب "
Ibn Wahb told us, on the authority of Ibn Lahi’ah, on the authority of Khaled bin Abi Imran, on the authority of Hanash bin Abdullah, he heard Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) say: “If the Sufyani army was eclipsed, the ruler of Mecca would say: This is the sign that you were informing about. Then a dog will come to him after that and they will say: What have you done? You went to our pledge of allegiance and took it off and made it for him? Then he says: What should I do? Give me the pledge of allegiance. The people say: We are with you, so pledge your pledge of allegiance. He sends a message to Al-Hashimi and he demands his pledge of allegiance from him. Then they fight him and Al-Hashemi defeats them. On that day, he who focuses his spear on a living dog will be his. The one who is disappointed is the one who will be disappointed on the day a dog is plundered.
حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم، عن خير بن محمد الرعيني، قال: أخبرني راشد، مولانا، عن تبيع، عن كعب، قال
إذا رأيت خليفة ببيت المقدس، وآخر دونه، يعني بدمشق، فلا تتبع الذي دونه، فإنه أضل من حمار أهله

حدثنا الحكم بن نافع، عن جراح، عن أرطاة، قال: " يكون بين المهدي وبين الروم هدنة، ثم يهلك المهدي، ثم يلي رجل من أهل بيته، يعدل قليلا، ثم يسل سيفه على أهل فلسطين، فيثورون به، فيستغيث بأهل الأردن، فيمكث فيهم شهرين، يعدل بعدل المهدي، ثم يسل سيفه عليهم، فيثورون به، فيخرج هاربا حتى ينزل دمشق، فهل رأيت الأسكفة التي عند باب الجابية حيث موضع توابيت الصرف، الحجر المستدير دونه، على خمسة أذرع، عليها يذبح ولا ينطفئ ذكر دمه حتى يقال: قد أرست الروم فيها بين صور إلى عكا، فهي الملاحم "

حدثنا أبو عمر صاحب لنا من أهل البصرة، ثنا ابن لهيعة، عن عبد الوهاب بن حسين، عن محمد بن ثابت، عن أبيه، عن الحارث الهمداني، عن عبد الله بن مسعود، رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " يكون بين المسلمين وبين الروم هدنة وصلح حتى يقاتلوا معهم عدوا لهم، فيقاسمونهم غنائمهم، ثم إن الروم يغزون مع المسلمين فارس فيقتلون مقاتلتهم، ويسبون ذراريهم، فتقول الروم: قاسمونا الغنائم كما قاسمناكم، فيقاسمونهم الأموال وذراري الشرك، فتقول الروم: قاسمونا ما أصبتم من ذراريكم فيقولون: لا نقاسمكم ذراري المسلمين أبدا، فيقولون: غدرتم بنا، فترجع الروم إلى صاحبهم بالقسطنطينية، فيقولون: إن العرب غدرت بنا، ونحن أكثر منهم عددا، وأتم منهم عدة، وأشد منهم قوة، فأمدنا نقاتلهم، فيقول: ما كنت لأغدر بهم، قد كانت لهم الغلبة في طول الدهر علينا، فيأتون صاحب رومية فيخبرونه بذلك، فيوجه ثمانين غاية، تحت كل غاية اثنا عشر ألفا في البحر، ويقول لهم صاحبهم: إذا رسيتم بسواحل الشام فاحرقوا المراكب لتقاتلوا عن أنفسكم، فيفعلون ذلك، ويأخذون أرض الشام كلها، برها وبحرها، ما خلا مدينة دمشق، والمعنق، ويخربون بيت المقدس " قال: فقال ابن مسعود: وكم تسع دمشق من المسلمين؟ قال: فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
والذي نفسي بيده، لتتسعن على من يأتيها من المسلمين كما يتسع الرحم على الولد جبل بأرض الشام من حمص، على نهر يقال له الأرنط، فتكون ذراري المسلمين في أعلى المعنق، والمسلمون على نهر الأرنط، والمشركون خلف نهر الأرنط يقاتلونهم صباحا ومساء، فإذا أبصر ذلك صاحب القسطنطينية وجه في البر إلى قنسرين ستمائة ألف حتى تجيئهم مادة اليمن سبعين ألفا، ألف الله قلوبهم بالإيمان، معهم أربعون ألفا من حمير، حتى يأتوا بيت المقدس، فيقاتلون الروم فيهزمونهم، ويخرجونهم من جند إلى جند، حتى يأتوا قنسرين وتجيئهم مادة الموالي

قال الوليد: أخبرني سعيد بن عبد العزيز، عن مكحول، قال
ليمخرن الروم الشام أربعين صباحا، لا يمتنع منها إلا دمشق وأعالي البلقاء

وحدثنا نعيم قال: ثنا الوليد، عن عبد الله بن العلاء بن زبر، سمع أبا الأعيس عبد الرحمن بن سلمان، قال
يغلب ملك من ملوك الروم على الشام كله إلا دمشق وعمان، ثم ينهزم وتبنى قيسارية أرض الروم، فتصير جند من أجناد أهل الشام، ثم تظهر نار من عدن أبين
