Ibn Wahb told us, on the authority of Ibn Lahi’ah, he told them, on the authority of Khalid bin Abi Imran, on the authority of Hanash bin Abdullah, he heard Ibn Abbas, (may Allah be pleased with him) say: “There will be a caliph from the Banu Hashim in Medina, and some of them will go to Mecca, and when they present it, the ruler of Mecca sends to them: What has brought you, do you think you will find relief with us? One of them has included his sword in his dress, and he says: Who forced you to kill our friend? He says: He made me angry. He says: Bear witness, O Muslims, that he killed him because he made him angry. So he draws his sword and strikes him with it. Then they side with Taif, and the people of Mecca say: By Allah, if we leave these people until news of them reaches the Caliph, he will destroy us. He said: Then they march to them, and the Hashemites call out to them: Allah, Allah is in our blood. And your blood, you have learned that he killed our friend unjustly, so they will not turn away from them until they fight them and defeat them, and seize Mecca, and the owner of Medina informs them of their matter, and they say: By Allah, if we leave them, we will face calamity from the Caliph. Then the owner of Medina sends an army to them and they defeat them, and if the Caliph sends an army to them, they will be the ones he will annihilate.”

Rushdin told us, on the authority of Ibn Lahi’ah, on the authority of Abu Qabil, on the authority of Sa’id ibn al-Aswad, on the authority of Yusuf ibn Dhi Qarnat, who said: “There will be a caliph in the Levant who will invade Medina, and when the people of Medina hear that the army is coming to them, seven of them will go to Mecca, and they will belittle it. Then the owner of Medina will write to the owner of Mecca: If so-and-so and so-and-so comes to you, calling them by name, then kill them. The ruler of Mecca will magnify that, and then they will conspire among themselves, so they will come to him at night and seek protection from him, and he will say: Get out. They are safe, so they go out. Then he sends for two men from among them, and one of them is killed, and the other looks on. Then he returns to his companions, and they go out until they descend on a mountain from the mountains of Taif, where they stay there. They are sent to the people, and people flock to them. If that is the case, the people of Mecca invade them and defeat them. They enter Mecca, kill its prince, and remain there until, when it collapses, the army regains its command and goes out.

Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Tahirti told us, on the authority of Abdul Salam bin Maslama, he heard Abu Qabil say: “The Sufyani sends an army to Medina and orders the killing of everyone who is there, from Bani Hashim to the pregnant ones. This is what Al-Hashimi does when he comes out to his companions from the East. He says: What is this whole calamity? My companions were killed except before them. He orders them to be killed, and they are killed until no one of them is known in Medina, and they disperse from it, fleeing to the valleys and mountains, and to Mecca, until... His army puts the sword on them for days, then stops them, and none of them appear except fearful until the Mahdi’s command appears in Mecca. Every guide among them gathered to him in Mecca.”

He will emerge with the banner of the Prophet ﷺ from a square black velvet robe, which contains a stone that has not been unfurled since the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It will not be unfurled until the Mahdi emerges. Allah will provide him with three thousand angels who will strike the faces and backs of those who oppose them. I have heard that the Mahdi will stay for fourteen years in Jerusalem, then he will die, and then after him he will be of honorable mention from the people of Tabi’. He is called Mansour in Jerusalem. Twenty-one years, fifteen of which are justice, three years of oppression, and three years of which are deprivation of property. No one is given a dirham. The people of the Dhimma are divided among those who fight him. He is the one who exiles the loyal ones to the depths of the depths. He is the one who tramples the son of Ishmael like the rarest cow is trampled upon. A prophet, and his nickname is the nickname of a prophet. He goes to him from the depths until he meets a victor in the depths of Jericho, and he fights him and kills him. Then the Lord reigns and banishes the sons of Qahtan and the sons of Ismail, to the two cities of Kanz al-Arab, Medina and Sana’a. He is the one who will expel the Turks and the Romans at his hands until they rule from the depths of Antioch to Mount Carmel in Palestine in the meadow of the city of Acre. The Lord reigns for three years, then he is killed, and after him Haim the Second Mahdi will reign. Who kills the Romans and defeats them, and conquers Constantinople, and resides there for three years, four months and ten days, then Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon him), descends and the kingdom is handed over to him.

By the One in whose hand is my soul, it will expand upon whoever of the Muslims comes to it just as the womb expands upon a child. A mountain in the land of the Levant, from Homs, on a river called Al-Arunt, so the descendants of the Muslims will be at the top of the neck, and the Muslims are on the Arunat River, and the polytheists behind the Arunat River will fight them morning and evening. When the owner of Constantinople sees this, he directs six hundred thousand across the land to Qinnasrin until seventy thousand come to them in Yemen. May Allah unite their hearts with faith, with them forty thousand. From Himyar, until they come to Jerusalem, and they fight the Romans and defeat them, and drive them out from one army to another, until they come to Qinnisrin and the material of the loyalists comes to them.

Far from, far from, by the One in whose hand is my soul, O Hudhayfah, write it down to six qualities. The first of them is my death, then the Holy House will be conquered, then after that there will be a strife in which two great factions will fight, in which there will be a lot of killing, and a lot of chaos in them. Their call is the same, then death will be imposed upon you and it will kill you in a lump just as sheep die, then money will increase and it will overflow until a man is called for a hundred dinars and he refuses to take it, then a boy will arise among the children of the yellow people. Jarrah said ، About Artaat ، “The first epic, according to Daniel, takes place in Alexandria ، They leave with their ships, and the people of Egypt seek help from the people of the Levant ، They meet and fight fiercely ، The Muslims defeat the Romans after intense effort ، Then they will camp on it and gather a great crowd ، Then they come and go to Jaffa, Palestine ، Ten miles ، Its people and their descendants take shelter in the mountains ، The Muslims will meet them and defeat them ، And they kill their king ، The second epic: After their defeat, they gather a greater gathering than their first gathering ، Then they would come and camp in Akka ، Their king, the son of the murdered person, perished ، The Muslims will meet in Acre ، Victory will be withheld from the Muslims for forty days ، The people of the Levant seek help from the people of the cities ، They are slow in their victory ، On that day, there will not remain a free polytheist nor a Christian slave except the Romans ، A third of the people of the Levant flee ، A third are killed ، Then Allah would grant victory to the rest, and they would defeat the Romans with a defeat the likes of which had never been heard of ، And they kill their king ، The third epic: Those who returned at sea return ، Those who fled on land will join them ، And they own the son of their murdered king ، When he was young, he did not have a wet dream ، It spreads affection for him in their hearts ، He accepts what their first two kings did not accept in terms of number ، They descend to the depths of Antioch ، The Muslims gather and camp in front of them ، They will fight for two months ، Then Allah will grant victory to the Muslims and they will defeat the Romans ، And they are killed while they are running away on the road ، Then aid will come to them ، They stand in support of the Muslims ، Then a campaign would occur against them and they would kill them and their king ، The rest of them are defeated ، The immigrants seek them and kill them horribly ، Then the cross will be invalidated ، The Romans departed to the nations behind them, from Andalusia ، They kill them until they go down the paths ، The immigrants are divided into two halves ، So half walks on land toward the path ، The other half ride in the sea ، The migrants who are on land and those on the path will meet their enemy ، Then Allah will give them victory over their enemy and defeat them with a defeat greater than the previous defeats ، They direct the good news to their brothers at sea ، Your appointment is the city ، So Allah will guide them in the best way until they descend on the city and storm it and destroy it ، Then after that there will be Andalusia and nations ، They will gather and come to the Levant, and the Muslims will meet them, and Allah Almighty will defeat them.”

What makes you cry, Abu Dhar? Today you are crying, but she recently left the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him, and the people are fine, and Islam is new, Abu Dharr. A day will come upon the people of this city when terror comes to them from towards their coast. They will march to them and meet them at Solomon’s Aqaba. They will fight them, and Allah will defeat them. They will kill them in its valleys and its paths. They will do so until news comes to them from behind them that its people have closed it off to those of the descendants of the immigrants who were in it. Then they will go to it and station themselves until the victory is opened. May Allah be upon them. If the people of this city knew what benefit they would have in the church in Deir Mashal on that day, they would treat it with oil, anointing its wood. When Allah opened it to them, not a single hairy person would be left in it without killing him, until a man from among the immigrants kills a man from among the Christians, even if he had disputed with him about his mother’s breast, and until a canal emerges from Homs in which the water pours blood, with hardly anything mixing with it.

O Abu Amer, if these two dustbins are blown up, then remove your family from Homs. If you enter Antarsus and three hundred martyrs are killed there, then remove your family from Homs. The Persians will close it in on the descendants of the Muslims and their women. Then we surrounded ourselves until we entered Deir Mashal. You will see this wood. On that day, it will be the catapults of the Muslims. It is not permissible for them to complete three years. The Romans have three outings. This is the first, and the other. An army will come to the sea with a thousand castles and they will disperse them. They recruit their share, and prepare to go out in one day, and when that day comes, each people goes out to the next Muslims, burns their ships, and makes their fortresses tents, then they fight and the affliction and fighting intensify in all of Syria, and some of them are unable to defeat others, and Allah withholds victory, and gives weapons, and softens the people until it becomes the Muslims’ business to fortify themselves in Al-Mada’in, and notifies the Roman scribes in the breaches of Al-Mada’in, and then the Persians of Homs are closed. Its doors are upon the descendants of Muslims and their women, and the fighting intensifies in the land of Palestine for four consecutive days.
