Mention of the remaining narrations concerning what the Dajjal will bring and manifest.

Note: Clarification of the scholarly difference concerning the reality of the Dajjal's paradise and fire.

In the narration of Nu'aym from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): "And with him will be a mountain of broth and stripped meat bones that remain hot and never cool down, a flowing river, a mountain of lush gardens and greenery, and a mountain of fire and smoke. He will say: 'This is my paradise, and this is my fire, and this is my food, and this is my drink.'"

Note:

The scholars have differed regarding this paradise and fire: are they real in substance, or an optical illusion?

Ibn Hibban, in his "Sahih", inclined towards the view that it is an illusion, deriving evidence from the hadith of al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah in the two "Sahihs", who said: I used to ask the Prophet (ﷺ) frequently about the Dajjal, so he said to me: "What harm can he cause you?" I said: "Because people say that he will have a mountain of bread with him." He (ﷺ) replied: "He is too insignificant to Allah for that."

Its meaning is: he is too insignificant in the sight of Allah for that to be with him in actual reality; rather, it merely appears so to the eyes while not being a reality. This is corroborated by the previously cited narration: "One of them, in the sight of the eyes, is white water, and the other, in the sight of the eyes, is a blazing fire."

A group of scholars, including al-Qadi Ibn al-'Arabi, said: Rather, they are to be understood according to their apparent reality, meaning that this will be a trial from Allah for His servants, and the meaning of the hadith would be: he is too insignificant to be feared, or that Allah would lead astray through him those whom He loves.

I say: The verified position is the first, as evidenced by his statement: "Let him close his eyes, then lower his head and drink, for it is cold water," and what is stated in another narration: "Whoever among you witnesses that, let him plunge into that which he sees as fire, for it is sweet, cold water," and what is mentioned in another narration: "For the fire is a green garden, and the paradise is a murky place filled with smoke." The distinction between these two and other supernatural feats is that the others possess physical reality, whereas paradise and fire, being the realms of recompense, reward, and punishment, ought not to belong in true reality to anyone other than Allah, unlike other supernatural feats; and Allah knows best.

Among them is that the earth will be folded for him, spring by spring, just as a ram's fleece is folded up, and that he will traverse the entire earth in forty days; there will be no land but that he will tread upon it, except Makkah and Madinah, as will be discussed later.

His speed of travel will be like that of a rain-bearing cloud driven from behind by the wind.
