أنشدني أبو جعفر القرشي
আবু জাফর আল-কুরাশী আমার নিকট কবিতা আবৃত্তি করে শোনালেন:
Abu Ja'far al-Qurashi recited to me:
تناجيك أجداث وهن سكوت ... وسكانها تحت التراب خفوت
"কবরগুলো তোমার সাথে নিভৃতে কথা বলে, অথচ তারা সম্পূর্ণ নীরব; আর মাটির নিচে তাদের বাসিন্দারা চিরনিস্তব্ধ।
"The graves converse with you while they remain silent, and their inhabitants beneath the dust are completely hushed.
أيا جامع الدنيا لغير بلاغة ... لمن تجمع الدنيا وأنت تموت
হে প্রয়োজনের অতিরিক্ত দুনিয়া সঞ্চয়কারী! কার জন্য তুমি দুনিয়ার ধন-সম্পদ জমা করছ, অথচ তুমি তো নিশ্চিত মৃত্যুবরণ করবে?"
O gatherer of the world beyond what is sufficient! For whom do you amass the world, while you are destined to die?"
