Hadith 63: Exhortation at the Funeral and Severing of Worldly Hopes

الحديث 63: باب الموعظة بالجنازة والاعتبار بانقطاع الآمال

حدثنا إبراهيم بن عبد الله الهروي حدثني هشيم وثنا أبو عبد الله الحمصي عن من حدثه عن أبي هريرة أنه كان إذا مروا عليه بالجنازة في أول النهار قال اغدوا فإنا رايحون وإذا مروا عليه من العشي قال روحوا فإنا غادون.

ইবরাহীম ইবনে আব্দুল্লাহ আল-হারাওয়ী আমাদের নিকট বর্ণনা করেছেন: হুশায়ম আমার নিকট বর্ণনা করেছেন এবং আবু আব্দুল্লাহ আল-হিমসী আমাদের নিকট বর্ণনা করেছেন এমন এক ব্যক্তি থেকে যিনি তাঁর নিকট বর্ণনা করেছেন, তিনি আবু হুরায়রা (রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু) থেকে বর্ণনা করেন যে, দিনের প্রথমার্ধে যখন তাঁর পাশ দিয়ে কোনো জানাযা নিয়ে যাওয়া হতো, তখন তিনি বলতেন: "তোমরা সকালে যাও, নিশ্চয়ই আমরা সন্ধ্যায় গমনকারী।" আর যখন সন্ধ্যার সময় তাঁর পাশ দিয়ে কোনো জানাযা নিয়ে যাওয়া হতো, তখন তিনি বলতেন: "তোমরা সন্ধ্যায় যাও, নিশ্চয়ই আমরা সকালে গমনকারী।"

Ibrahim ibn 'Abdullah al-Harawi narrated to us: Hushaym narrated to me, and Abu 'Abdullah al-Himsi narrated to us, from someone who narrated to him, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever a funeral procession passed by him in the early part of the day, he would say: "Depart in the morning, for indeed we shall depart in the evening." And whenever they passed by him in the evening, he would say: "Depart in the evening, for indeed we shall depart in the morning."
