المقدمة: خطبة المؤلف في وجوب التمسك بالسنة والتحذير من الفتن
والساعة وأشراطها لكي يتأدب بها المؤمن العاقل، ويأخذ نفسه برعايتها ويجهدها في استعمالها والتمسك بها ويتبين له بذلك عظيم ما حل بالإسلام وأهله من سفك الدماء، ونهب الأموال، واستباحة الحرم وغير ذلك مما يذهب الدين ويضعف الإيمان فيعمل نفسه في إصلاح شأنه خوفا منه على فساد دينه وذهابه، وما توفيقنا إلا بالله عليه نتوكل وهو حسبنا، وإليه ننيب ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العلي العظيم
এবং কিয়ামত ও তার আলামতসমূহ সম্পর্কে (হাদিসসমূহ সংকলন করেছি), যাতে করে বিবেকবান মুমিন এগুলোর মাধ্যমে শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করতে পারে, নিজেকে এগুলো অনুসরণে বাধ্য করে এবং এগুলোর ওপর আমল করতে ও তা আঁকড়ে ধরতে সচেষ্ট হয়। আর এর মাধ্যমে সে যেন অনুধাবন করতে পারে ইসলাম ও তার অনুসারীদের ওপর কী ভয়াবহ বিপদ নেমে এসেছে, যেমন: রক্তপাত, ধনসম্পদ লুণ্ঠন, পবিত্র বিষয়সমূহের অবমাননা এবং অন্যান্য বিষয়াবলী যা দ্বীনকে বিনষ্ট করে ও ঈমানকে দুর্বল করে দেয়; যাতে সে নিজের দ্বীন বিনষ্ট হওয়া ও হারিয়ে যাওয়ার ভয়ে নিজের সংশোধনে আত্মনিয়োগ করে। আর আমাদের তাওফিক তো কেবল আল্লাহরই পক্ষ থেকে; আমরা কেবল তাঁরই ওপর ভরসা করি, তিনিই আমাদের জন্য যথেষ্ট, তাঁরই দিকে আমরা প্রত্যাবর্তন করি, আর মহান ও পরাক্রমশালী আল্লাহর সাহায্য ব্যতীত কোনো শক্তি নেই এবং কোনো সামর্থ্য নেই।
and the Hour and its signs, so that the discerning believer may learn discipline through them, compel himself to heed them, strive diligently to implement them and adhere to them, and realize through them the gravity of what has afflicted Islam and its people in terms of bloodshed, plundering of wealth, violation of sanctities, and other matters that strip away religion and weaken faith; so that he may exert himself in reforming his own state out of fear for the corruption and loss of his religion. And our success is only through Allah; upon Him we rely, He is sufficient for us, unto Him we turn in repentance, and there is no power nor might except with Allah, the Most High, the Supreme.
